Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)

How candidates are scored in the Express Entry pool.

The CRS awards points based on age, level of education, official language ability, Canadian and foreign work experience, a valid job offer, a provincial nomination and certain skill transferability factors.

A provincial nomination contributes 600 points and effectively guarantees an invitation to apply in a subsequent draw.

Improving your CRS score generally involves higher language test results, additional education credentials, more skilled work experience, or pursuing a Provincial Nominee Program stream.
