Express Entry is an electronic system that manages applications for permanent residence under the Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades and Canadian Experience Class programs, as well as a portion of the Provincial Nominee Program.
Candidates create an online profile and are placed in a pool. Their profile is scored under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The highest-ranked candidates receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in regular draws.
Once invited, an applicant has 60 days to submit a complete permanent residence application. Most applications are processed within six months.
