Dependent Child & Other Sponsorship

Sponsor your dependent children, including adopted children, and certain other eligible relatives.

A dependent child is generally under 22 years old and not a spouse or common-law partner. Children 22 or older may qualify if financially dependent due to a physical or mental condition.

In limited circumstances, you may sponsor another relative (such as an orphaned sibling, niece or nephew) where you have no other eligible Canadian relative.
