Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) applications ask the Minister to exercise discretion to grant permanent residence based on factors such as establishment in Canada, the best interests of any children affected, and hardship that would result from leaving Canada.
H&C is not an appeal mechanism, and applicants must put forward a compelling, well-documented case to succeed.
